Fr. Robert McTeigue says some of the Church's leading men are "progressing us right off a cliff" - and he names Cardinal Fernández. Jesse Romero asks who lost the Catholic vote.

At 4:14: the fallout from the midterms. Early exit polls have Catholics split 50-49 after Trump won 55% of them in 2024. Hispanic Catholics went 65% Democratic. Catholics under 29 went 65% Democratic. And only 29% of Catholics believe in the Real Presence. Evangelist Jesse Romero on who lost them, and what a Catholic family does about it.

At 4:30: Fr. McTeigue on his New Oxford Review essay "Calling Catholics Back from the Cliff." On one desk: Leo XIII, St. Pius X, Pius XI, Cardinal Pie, Gilson, Pieper and Dawson. On the other: the synodal reports and Cardinals Cupich, Fernández, Radcliffe and Roche. His verdict: "You can't get there from here." We put it to the test on two documents from Cardinal Fernández's dicastery - Venite ad Me on handing on the faith, and Mater Populi Fidelis on Mary, Mediatrix of All Graces.
