A cardinal says the Church is "not there to convert." The Prefect of the Doctrine of the Faith admits nobody read his document. And Pope Leo XIV tells an interfaith meeting at Assisi that "there is no such thing as a holy war" — three weeks after the feast of Our Lady of Victory. Fr. Gerald Murray joins Joe McClane to take all three. Plus Nick Cavazos on the midterms five days out: Democrats +9 on the generic ballot, Texas a toss-up, and abortion on the ballot in four states.

Fr. Gerald Murray is pastor of Holy Family Church in New York City, a canon lawyer, and a regular on EWTN's "Papal Posse."

SCRIPTURE (Douay-Rheims):

• Matthew 28:19-20 — "Going therefore, teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost."
• John 14:6 — "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me."
• 1 Corinthians 9:16 — "Woe unto me if I preach not the gospel."
• Matthew 22:21 — "Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's; and to God, the things that are God's."
• Luke 13:32 — "Go and tell that fox: Behold, I cast out devils, and do cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I am consummated."
• Matthew 5:9 — "Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called children of God."
