St. Michael: Patron and Protector of Law Enforcement

Published 1 hour ago

St. Michael the Archangel is the prince of the heavenly host, guardian of the Church and patron of law enforcement. This Catholic homily recounts the rebellion of Lucifer, the great battle among the angels and St. Michael’s fearless response: “Who is like God?”

Drawing upon Catholic tradition and the writings attributed to Venerable Mary of Ágreda, the sermon explains the angels’ trial, Lucifer’s rejection of the Incarnation and the Blessed Virgin Mary, and St. Michael’s defense of God’s honor. His fidelity offers a powerful example for police officers and every Christian engaged in the spiritual battle between good and evil.

The homily also presents the weapons Heaven gives us: daily prayer, Sunday Mass, regular Confession, the Holy Eucharist, the Rosary and the Brown Scapular. Those who protect and serve others must also protect their own souls, pray for their families and communities, and perform every duty for Christ the King.

May Saints Michael, Gabriel and Raphael defend us, strengthen our faith and lead us safely through the spiritual combat of this life.
