May the Holy Names of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph be blessed now and forever.

In this powerful Franciscan reflection, we contemplate the REAL St. Francis of Assisi — not the modernized caricature, but the Seraphic Father aflame with divine love, poverty, penance, and total conformity to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

This sermon draws deeply from:

The Holy Gospel

The Franciscan Rule dictated by the Holy Spirit

The witness of St. Bonaventure and St. Thomas of Celano

The authoritative teachings of Pope Leo XIII (Opici Contessesum, 1882)

The encyclical of Pope Pius XI (Rite Expiatis, 1926)

The prophetic call of Our Lady of Fatima, especially the First Saturday devotion

✨ St. Francis of Assisi stands as a blazing ray of light in an age of darkness, just as God raises saints in every time of crisis. His life of radical poverty, heroic penance, Marian consecration, and total union with the Cross reveals the true Franciscan vocation:
👉 to become conformed to Christ Crucified for the salvation of souls.

🔥 From the kiss of the leper — revealed as Christ Himself —
🔥 to Mount La Verna and the Sacred Stigmata,
🔥 to dying naked, poor, and consumed by love,
St. Francis becomes prayer itself.

This reflection also calls friars and lay faithful alike to:

Live authentic penance

Embrace reparation for sin

Answer the Fatima call: “Do penance or you shall perish”

Rebuild the Church at the foot of the Cross

📌 The Cross is the Franciscan home.
📌 Penance is the fuel of prayer.
📌 Where your heart is, there is your treasure.

🙏 May this meditation ignite hearts to return to the golden path of humility, to become victim souls of love, and to radiate the Immaculate for the maximum glory of God and the salvation of all souls.

Amen.
