The House Oversight Committee has released hundreds of pages of records from convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s estate, including a “birthday book” compiled by Ghislaine Maxwell for Epstein’s 50th birthday in 2003. The book contains a letter allegedly written by then-private citizen Donald Trump — a claim both Trump and White House officials deny, stating he neither wrote nor signed the note. Democrats argue the material shows a close relationship between Trump and Epstein, while some Republicans, including GOP Committee Chairman James Comer, accuse Democrats of politicizing and cherry-picking the information. Democrats point out that Trump previously claimed the infamous birthday book didn’t exist — yet now it has surfaced. A letter bearing the name of former President Bill Clinton was also included in the book. When Epstein was arrested in 2019, a Clinton spokesperson stated the former president hadn’t spoken to Epstein in over a decade and "knows nothing about the terrible crimes." Both sides agree that all files should be released — while ensuring protections for the victims remain in place. Capitol Hill Correspondent Erik Rosales reports.
