Russia has intensified its aerial assaults in Ukraine despite President Trump’s efforts to persuade Russian President Vladimir Putin to agree to a ceasefire and engage in peace talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Officials say a Russian glide bomb struck a village in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region, killing at least 24 people and wounding 19 others. President Zelenskyy called on the international community to hold Moscow accountable with tougher economic sanctions. This strike comes amid Russia’s largest aerial attack since the war began, including a first-time hit on the Cabinet of Ministers building in Kyiv. Meanwhile, U.S.-led peace efforts remain stalled with no clear path forward. Fr. Serhiy Zakharchenko, News Director of EWTN Ukraine, joins to describe the current mood on the ground in Kyiv. He also shares what spiritual and pastoral needs he is observing in communities that have been hit hardest. Additionally, he explains why we are not seeing any movement toward a direct Putin-Zelenskyy meeting.
