The Holy Hieromartyr Alexander, Bishop of Adrianopolis, and the Martyrs Heracleo, Anna, Elizabeth, Theodote, and Gleria are commemorated by the Orthodox Church on October 22nd. These courageous saints lived during the 3rd century, a time of fierce persecution against Christians.

Saint Alexander, Bishop of Adrianopolis, fearlessly preached the Gospel of Christ, converting many pagans despite the danger. His steadfast faith inspired others — including the soldier Heracleo and the devout women Theodote, Gleria, Anna, and Elizabeth — all of whom boldly confessed Christ and accepted martyrdom rather than deny their faith.

Tortured and ultimately beheaded for Christ, Saint Alexander and his companions received the unfading crown of glory in the Kingdom of God. Their lives remain a powerful witness of courage, endurance, and love for the True God.
