In this episode of The Lives of the Saints by Father Albin Butler, we recount the inspiring story of Saint Winefride (St. Winifred), the Virgin Martyr of Wales, whose courage, purity, and miracles have inspired centuries of devotion. Born to noble parents in North Wales, St. Winefride dedicated her life to God under the guidance of St. Beuno, her holy uncle. When she refused the advances of a prince named Caradog, she was martyred — but miraculously restored to life through the prayers of St. Beuno.

Her shrine at Holywell, known as the Lourdes of Wales, remains one of the most famous pilgrimage sites in Britain, with countless miracles of healing reported through her intercession.

Learn about her miraculous life, her death, and her enduring spiritual legacy — a story of purity, faith, and divine power that continues to touch lives even today.

🙏 May St. Winefride pray for us.
