Discover the inspiring life of Saint Pamachius, a Roman senator who chose humility and charity over worldly honors. A friend and collaborator of Saint Jerome and Saint Augustine, Pamachius devoted his life to serving the poor, building hospitals, and defending the faith against heresy. After the death of his wife Paulina, daughter of Saint Paula, he turned his grief into works of mercy, becoming a true model of Christian charity. Though never ordained, he lived as a saintly layman until his death in 410. The Church commemorates him on August 30 in the Roman Martyrology.
