On September 13th, the Church commemorates the Holy Martyr Chrones of Alexandria and those with him—Saints Stronic, Sarapion, Leonus, and Lucas—faithful witnesses of Christ who endured brutal torments in the 3rd Century.

Saints Chrones, Leonus, and Sarapion were from Egypt. After fierce tortures for their confession of faith, they were bound hand and foot and cast into the sea. By God’s providence, the waves carried their bodies to shore where Christians gave them a proper burial.

Saint Ccusus (Kukus) and his wife, from Galatia, were tortured and thrown to wild beasts for their steadfast confession of Christ.

Saint Stronus of Bithynia in Nicomedia suffered savage tortures under the local governor. Bound to bent tree trunks, his body was torn apart for his unwavering faith.

Their lives stand as a powerful testimony of courage, faith, and eternal hope in Christ.
