On the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, the Church places the Cross before us not simply as a decoration or a memory, but as a living power that must stand at the center of the Christian life.

To the modern world, the Cross can look like failure, shame, suffering, and defeat.

But in the hands of God:

The Cross becomes victory.
The Cross becomes life.
The Cross becomes glory.

Our sicknesses, doubts, failures, family burdens, and daily struggles are not necessarily signs that God has abandoned us. They can become the very places where Jesus Christ draws closest to us.

Christ tells us:

“Take up your cross and follow Me.”

Not because God delights in suffering, but because the Cross is the road that leads to the Resurrection.

Every time we choose love instead of resentment, forgive instead of condemn, remain faithful when we cannot see the answer, or sacrifice ourselves for another person, the Cross is exalted again—in our hearts, homes, workplaces, and daily choices.

Nothing united to Christ is wasted.

May the power of the Holy Cross guard our homes, heal our wounds, strengthen our faith, and lead us into the joy of Christ’s Resurrection.
