Forgive From the Heart—Even When It Hurts

Published 13 hours ago

How do you forgive someone who has deeply wounded you?

Drawing on St. John Chrysostom, this Catholic sermon explains why forgiveness must come from the heart—and why it requires courage, truth, and grace.

Through the parable of the unforgiving servant and St. Paul’s teaching on spiritual armor, we are called to remember the mercy God has shown us and extend that mercy to others.

The sermon explores four spiritual benefits of forgiveness: receiving God’s pardon, growing in patience and perseverance, acquiring meekness, and refusing to surrender to hatred.

For anyone struggling with resentment, family feuds, slander, or division, this is an invitation to pray for those who hurt us and ask Christ for the strength to forgive.
