How often do you think about Heaven?

We should certainly think about hell and do everything possible to avoid it—but even more, Catholics should keep their eyes fixed upon Heaven, the destination for which God created us.

In this sermon for the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we are reminded that Our Lady was taken body and soul into Heaven and now reigns gloriously as Queen beside her Divine Son.

Her Assumption gives us hope because we too profess our belief in the resurrection of the body. By God’s grace, we hope one day to see with our own eyes Jesus Christ, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and all the saints in Heaven.

But there is no hidden secret to salvation.

There is one way to Heaven: Jesus Christ.

We are called simply to live as faithful Catholics—remaining close to Christ, His Church, the sacraments, prayer, and His Blessed Mother.

🙏 Pray the Angelus.
🙏 Pray the Rosary.
🙏 Go to Confession.
🙏 Receive Holy Communion worthily.
🙏 Fulfill your daily duties.
🙏 Keep your eyes fixed on Heaven.

The distractions of this world—even religious controversies—can cause us to lose sight of our destination.

Look up. Remember where you are going.

May Our Lady prepare a sure way for us so that one day, body and soul, we may rejoice with her forever in Heaven.
