On April 19, the Church commemorates the holy martyrs Christopher, Theonas, and Anthony, Roman soldiers under Emperor Diocletian who gave their lives for Christ in the year 303.

These officers witnessed the suffering and miracles of St. George the Great Martyr, whose unwavering faith and courage led them to conversion. Moved by the power of God, they boldly cast aside their military honors and publicly confessed Jesus Christ before the emperor.

For this, they were imprisoned, tortured with iron rods, torn with hooks, and ultimately burned alive. Yet through every torment, they remained steadfast, glorifying Christ as the true God.

Their story is a powerful reminder:
True courage is not found on the battlefield—but in fidelity to Christ, even unto death.
