Born into a noble Spanish family but raised in poverty, Andrés learned early the fleeting nature of earthly wealth. After being robbed and left penniless, he turned fully to God—embracing a life of sacrifice, prayer, and service in the Franciscan Order.

Though he sought a hidden life, God raised him up with the gifts of prophecy and miracles, drawing many souls to conversion. He even foretold the day of his death, dying in peace at age 68. His sanctity was recognized widely, and devotion to him spread even before his beatification in 1791.

This powerful saint reminds us that true riches are found not in this world, but in Heaven.
