Can the holy souls in purgatory help us? This Catholic homily explores devotion to the faithful departed through prayer, sacrifice, indulgences, and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

Hear devotional accounts of a woman completing her deceased aunt’s pilgrimage, a priest encountering mysterious worshippers in a locked church, and a poor woman in Naples whose offering for a Mass leads to an extraordinary encounter.

The sermon also discusses St. Thomas Aquinas, accounts associated with Padre Pio, and the book Charity for the Suffering Souls. These stories invite us to remember our suffering brothers and sisters in the Mystical Body of Christ.

The homily includes traditional theological opinions and reported private experiences concerning purgatory, alongside its practical call to pray for the dead.
