All five of Aquinas's proofs are built the same way: an obvious fact about the world, joined to the principle that nothing causes itself and that a chain of dependent causes cannot hold itself up. This video walks through each Way in order, from motion to causality to contingency to degrees of perfection to the order of things, and shows why the only three ways to escape the argument all collapse. Along the way we handle the inertia objection using the distinction between per se and per accidens causal series, and answer the flying spaghetti monster complaint by looking at where Question 2 actually sits in the Summa.
