Christian Wagner joins the stream to break down the epistemological dodge that came up in my Filioque discussion with Jay Dyer, the move where an opponent demands you justify your first principles before any debate can happen. We go through why first principles are indemonstrable by definition, how the church fathers and scholastics had already answered ancient skepticism centuries before Descartes, and why internal critique from your opponent's own premises is a completely legitimate form of argument. Then we take super chats on predestination, icon veneration, limbo of the infants, whether St. Thomas actually denied the Immaculate Conception, and Joe Schmid coming into the Church.
