How can we share the Catholic faith with warmth and joy while remaining faithful to the truth?

Drawing on St. Paul’s instruction to let our speech be “seasoned with salt,” this homily explores two purposes of salt: adding flavor and preserving what is good. Our Christian witness should do both—invite others to know Christ and preserve the truth He has entrusted to His Church.

Beginning with a lighthearted story about cooking, the sermon offers a practical lesson for conversations with family, friends, coworkers, and those who have left the Church.

It also considers the dignity of human life from conception to natural death and the danger of confusing compassion with approval of what contradicts the faith.

Speak with a smile. Witness with joy. Let charity shape your words while truth remains intact.
