Fr. Stephen De Young has recently appeared across Orthodox channels criticizing Catholic theology, but how strong are his arguments really?
In this video, we respond to his claims about satisfaction, merit, the Filioque, person as relation, created grace, the beatific vision, and Christology. Rather than offering a serious refutation of the West, many of his objections rely on caricatures, vague accusations, and misunderstandings of basic Catholic doctrine. We also show that several doctrines he treats as Latin corruptions are actually rooted in Scripture, the Fathers, and the broader Christian tradition.
