Jason Jones of the Vulnerable People Project returns from the Holy Land, where he experienced bombing all night by Israel. He joins John-Henry Westen to discuss the persecution of Christians in China. He calls for Pope Leo XIV to reject renewal of the Vatican's secret agreement with the Chinese Communist Party. Jones describes the CCP as a brutal, atheistic regime and points to the imprisonment of Catholic businessman Jimmy Lai and the reported disappearance and imprisonment of Catholic bishops and laypeople.
Jones argues that Pope Leo's response when asked about Lai may indicate that his ability to address the issue is constrained by the agreement. He urges Catholics to support the Pope in opposing renewal of the deal publicly.
The Vulnerable People Project also provides security and humanitarian aid to persecuted Christian communities in the West Bank and southern Lebanon, including villages facing severe infrastructure damage and winter conditions. Despite the persecution, Jones emphasizes hope and the Catholic responsibility to stand in solidarity with those who are imprisoned, abused, or forgotten. The message is clear: the Church must speak, or the silence will be complicity.
