The Holy Virgin Martyr Theodora and Martyr Didymus the Soldier suffered for Christ during the brutal persecutions under Emperor Diocletian in Alexandria around 303–304 AD. Refusing to deny Christ or abandon her vow of virginity, Saint Theodora stood courageously before the pagan authorities. When condemned to a brothel for her Christian faith, God sent an unexpected protector: the Christian soldier Didymus.

Disguised in military clothing, Didymus entered the brothel, rescued Saint Theodora, and willingly faced execution in her place. Yet Theodora returned, desiring to suffer alongside him for Christ. Together they embraced martyrdom and became eternal witnesses of purity, courage, sacrifice, and unwavering faith.

In this video, we explore the inspiring account of these early Christian martyrs commemorated on May 27th in the Orthodox and Catholic traditions.
