On October 19th, history was made in St. Peter’s Square as Pope Leo XIV canonized Peter To Rot, the first indigenous saint from Papua New Guinea.
A husband, father, and catechist, Peter To Rot was martyred for defending the sacrament of marriage during the Japanese occupation in World War II.
