Why do the nations rage against God and His Christ?

Psalm 2 reveals one of the most powerful prophecies of the Messiah in the Old Testament. The kings of the earth rebel against the Lord, yet God establishes His King upon Zion. The Father proclaims to the Son: “Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.”

This Psalm is both a warning and a promise:

• The rebellion of nations against God
• The divine authority of Christ the King
• The ultimate triumph of the Messiah
• The call for rulers and nations to submit to God

Psalm 2 is frequently quoted in the New Testament and points directly to Jesus Christ as the King of Kings, who will rule the nations with justice.

Scripture reminds us:

“Serve ye the Lord with fear, and rejoice unto him with trembling.”

Blessed are all who trust in Him.
