St. Dominic Savio is one of the youngest non-martyr saints ever canonized by the Catholic Church. A spiritual son of St. John Bosco, Dominic lived a short but astonishingly holy life marked by purity, joy, obedience, and deep prayer.

Born in 1842 in Italy, Dominic entered the Oratory of St. Francis de Sales in Turin, where Don Bosco quickly recognized the extraordinary holiness of the young boy. Dominic founded the Company of the Immaculate Conception, helped guide other boys toward virtue, and lived with a heroic love of God despite his young age.

Dominic believed that holiness consisted in doing even the smallest things for the greater glory of God, and he lived with a constant awareness of Heaven.

He died at only 15 years old on March 9, 1857, after receiving the sacraments. His final words expressed the joy of seeing heavenly realities.

Dominic Savio was beatified in 1950 and canonized in 1954, becoming a powerful example that holiness is possible even for children and young people.
