Glory to Jesus Christ.

In this powerful reflection on the Gospel, we are reminded that Christ does not ask us to carry the cross alone. Before calling us to follow Him, He walked the thorny path first.

Drawing from the writings of St. Nikolai Velimirovich, this sermon presents a striking image: the Christian life as a thorn-filled field that must be crossed. Our Lord crossed it barefoot, stepping on the sharpest thorns and blunting them for us, proving that what seems impossible in the spiritual life is possible through Him.

The struggle against sin, temptation, and our passions is not easy. The saints teach that the Christian life is a battle between the person we are and the person God calls us to become.

Through confession, repentance, prayer, and perseverance, we enter this battle daily. We fall many times, but by God's grace we rise again and continue forward.

Christ calls us to:
• deny ourselves
• crucify our passions
• fight against sin
• carry our cross faithfully

And when the battle feels unbearable, we must remember: Christ is already ahead of us on the path.

He knows the measure of our suffering and will never allow us to suffer more than we are able to bear.

This sermon is a powerful meditation especially for Lent, repentance, spiritual warfare, and perseverance in the Christian life.

May God grant us the courage to cross the thorny field and remain faithful to the end.
