The Cross Asks One Question: Who Are You Following? | Third Sunday of Lent Reflection

The Church places the Cross at the center of Lent to remind us of a difficult but necessary truth: Who are we really following in our lives?
In this powerful Third Sunday of the Great Fast reflection, we are invited to examine the hidden struggles of our daily lives — pride, comfort, anger, the desire to be right, and the resistance of our ego.
The Cross is not only a symbol from history.
It is the measure of the Christian life.
Christ calls each of us personally:
To deny ourselves
To carry our cross daily
To follow Him in humility and obedience
The real cross is often quiet:
• patience with our family
• prayer when we feel spiritually dry
• guarding our tongue when anger rises
• forgiving when pride demands justice
Through the Cross we discover that love is stronger than fear, obedience stronger than pride, and humility stronger than the ego.
As we reach the midpoint of the Great Fast, the Church reminds us that the Cross is not defeat — it is the doorway to the Resurrection.
