In the Iraqi city of Mosul, two historic Catholic churches—destroyed during ISIS’s occupation from 2014 to 2017—have been restored and officially reopened. Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani presided over the reopening of the Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception and the Dominican Church of Our Lady of the Hour.
