Exclusive offers and opportunities
Pope Leo XIV will inaugurate a new ecological chapter in his pontificate with the opening of Borgo Laudato Si', transforming the once-exclusive papal villa, gardens, and farms into a more inclusive space for all. Located near Lake Albano in Castel Gandolfo, the papal summer residence, Borgo Laudato Si' has been reorganized with a renewed mission inspired by Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’ on care for creation. The estate spans 55 hectares, and a new section has been added dedicated to the Vatican's first-ever vocational school. It will offer sustainable gardening, organic winemaking, and olive harvesting. Plans are also underway for a restaurant and hotel on the grounds. Speaking at a Vatican conference for journalists ahead of Pope Leo’s arrival, Father Dorantes emphasized that Borgo Laudato Si' will provide marginalized members of society with opportunities to learn skills for producing goods ethically. These products, originally made for the pope, will now be sold publicly, serving as a practical example of fostering a culture of care for creation. The mission of Borgo Laudato Si' is to demonstrate that it is possible to create a better, more ethical way to include all members of society in making products that honor the planet’s natural resources and to build better business models rooted in care for creation.
