Holy Martyr Jamis of Pagonia is commemorated on December 10th in the Orthodox Christian tradition. This video recounts the powerful and inspiring life of Saint Jamis, who boldly denounced Julian the Apostate (361–363) and suffered brutal tortures for his unwavering faith in Christ.

In the city of Ancyra in Galatia, Saint Jamis endured unimaginable suffering, including being bound with a red-hot iron belt, his limbs pierced with stakes, and being hung and mutilated—all while courageously rebuking the emperor’s impiety.

Even after these tortures, God preserved him long enough to encounter a priest who baptized him. Upon emerging from the waters of baptism, all his wounds were miraculously healed. Enraged, Julian ordered that he be crucified. The holy martyr surrendered his soul to God, and faithful Christians secretly retrieved and buried his body.
