The Holy Martyrs Peter, Dionysius, Andrew, Paul, and Christina suffered for Christ during the brutal persecution of Emperor Decius (249–251 AD). Refusing to worship idols or deny the Lord Jesus Christ, these courageous saints endured torture, humiliation, and death with unwavering faith.

Saint Peter boldly confessed Christ before the pagan authorities and rejected the worship of Venus, declaring that Christians would never bow before idols. Though subjected to terrible tortures, he remained steadfast and was ultimately beheaded for his faith.

Saints Dionysius, Andrew, and Paul also courageously confessed Christ. Alongside them stood Nicomachus, who tragically denied the Lord under torture and died in spiritual despair after offering sacrifice to idols. The remaining martyrs were dragged to execution and stoned to death by pagans.

Witnessing all of this was the young virgin Christina, only sixteen years old. Fearlessly rebuking apostasy and confessing Christ openly, she too was arrested. Though handed over to wicked men, God protected her through the appearance of an angel. After glorifying Christ through her courage and purity, Saint Christina was beheaded.

These holy martyrs remind us that eternal life is worth more than earthly suffering and that true faith endures even unto death.

May their prayers strengthen all Christians to remain faithful to Christ in every trial.
