Alleluia! Join The CatholicTV Network for the full Daily Catholic Mass celebration on this Tuesday of the Third Week of Easter. We gather on this beautiful day for an "invitation to hope," celebrating the victory of Jesus over death and the new life offered to all who are reborn of water and the Holy Spirit.
In today’s reverent Homily, the celebrant reflects on the transformative power of the Resurrection as seen in the lives of the first Christians. Drawing from the radical communal life described in the Acts of the Apostles and Jesus' teaching to Nicodemus, we explore how being "born from above" leads to a life of incredible unity and generosity. We are encouraged to recognize that through the "eternal mysteries" of the Eucharist, we are purged of sin and strengthened to bear witness to the Risen Lord in our own communities. This Mass is a powerful call to let the grace of God increase within us, so that we may lack nothing in our journey toward the "incorruptible glory" of the Kingdom.
The Scriptures today contrast the ultimate sacrifice of the first martyr with the promise of heavenly sustenance:
-The First Reading (Acts 7:51-8:1a): We witness the powerful final testimony and martyrdom of St. Stephen. Filled with the Holy Spirit, he gazes into heaven and sees the glory of God, echoing Christ’s own words of forgiveness as he commends his spirit to the Lord.
-The Responsorial Psalm (Ps 31): A prayer of total trust in God’s providence: "Father, into your hands I commend my spirit".
-The Holy Gospel (John 6:30-35): Jesus corrects the crowd’s focus on the manna of their ancestors, revealing that He is the true Bread from Heaven sent by the Father to give life to the world.
May the Lord bless you and keep you, making His face shine upon you as you walk in the peace of Christ.
