Discover the powerful story of the holy martyrs Processus and Martinian, commemorated on April 11th. Once pagan Roman guards in the infamous Mamertine Prison, they encountered the preaching of imprisoned Christians—especially Saint Peter the Apostle—and were transformed by the truth of the Gospel.

After embracing Christ and receiving baptism from Saint Peter himself, they boldly freed him from prison. Refusing to renounce their newfound faith, they openly defied pagan idols and confessed Christ before their persecutors.

Subjected to brutal torture—beaten with iron rods and scorched with fire—their faith remained unshaken. Strengthened by the support of the pious woman Lucina, they endured suffering with courage until they were ultimately beheaded for Christ around 67 AD.

Today, their relics rest in St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, a testimony to their unwavering faith and sacrifice.
