Today we celebrate the feast of St. John of Triora, Franciscan missionary and martyr in China, who was fastened to a cross and strangled for the Faith in 1818. His life is a powerful reminder that the Cross is not optional in Christianity — it is central.

From restoring sacred institutions in China to enduring seven months of brutal torture, St. John of Triora followed Christ to Calvary. He refused to trample on the Cross and gave heroic witness before his execution.

But this sermon goes deeper.

Now more than ever, the world needs souls willing to suffer, pray, and make reparation — even from their own homes. The age of comfort Christianity is over. The age of Marian apostles carrying the Cross has begun.

With the Cross in one hand and the Rosary in the other — may we help usher in the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart.
