Discover the powerful story of St. Erasmus of Formia, also known as St. Elmo, a courageous bishop and confessor of the early Church commemorated on May 4th.

During the brutal persecutions under Emperor Diocletian and Maximian, St. Erasmus remained unwavering in his faith. After years of hidden prayer in the mountains, an angel called him back into the world to confront evil and bring souls to Christ.

He endured imprisonment, torture, and public trials, yet never denied Christ. Through miracles—including raising the dead—he led thousands to baptism, including a mass conversion of 10,000 people.

Despite being thrown into a fiery furnace, bound in chains, and threatened with death, God preserved him. His fearless witness and supernatural endurance shook the pagan world.

This is the story of a saint who proved that true victory is found in faithfulness to Christ, even unto suffering.
