Texas Republicans are celebrating a major victory after state lawmakers voted and passed a new congressional district map. Texas Democrats did all they could to prevent the vote from happening, but in the end, Texas’s new congressional map passed the House, which could give the GOP five additional seats in Congress. Now that it has passed the Texas House, the state Senate is set to vote on the new map — and the governor says it could be signed into law before the end of the week. In response to Texas, California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom is moving forward with redrawing congressional maps aimed at adding five more Democratic seats to the U.S. House. Capitol Hill Correspondent Erik Rosales reports.
