The Israeli military has jailed two soldiers after they desecrated a statue of the Virgin Mary in southern Lebanon, putting a cigarette in the statue’s mouth. The soldiers will receive two to three weeks in military prison. This incident comes not long after another Israeli soldier took an ax to a statue of Jesus on the cross and also received time in prison.
