Terry Barber has received LifeSiteNews' first Fulton J. Sheen Award in recognition of his nearly 50 years promoting Archbishop Fulton Sheen's teachings and evangelization work. In his remarks, Barber reflected on attending Sheen's 1979 funeral and how the experience inspired him to make Sheen's recordings and writings more widely available. Despite being told Sheen's teachings were outdated, Barber persisted—distributing his materials to thousands of parishes and helping bring people back to the Catholic faith. He also purchased a church that remained open during the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing Masses, funerals, and weddings to continue.

Barber credited his work to God and emphasized Sheen's teaching that the laity have an essential responsibility in the life of the Church. He shared stories illustrating how Sheen's teachings shaped his approach to faith, evangelization, prayer, and personal sacrifice. He encouraged Catholics to focus on holiness, deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ, spend time in Eucharistic adoration, and learn to share their personal testimonies. He urged married couples to renew their commitment to one another and encouraged Catholics to unite their suffering with Christ's for the good of the Church.
