Discover the beauty of Italian Catholic sacred music through this collection of hymns, motets and organ works by Angelo Burbatti (1868–1946), the historic organist of the Cathedral of Ivrea. Written for soprano, choir and organ, these compositions preserve the devotional sound of an Italian cathedral during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The program brings together solemn Catholic choral music, intimate prayers for solo voice and organ, Marian hymns, Eucharistic motets and instrumental meditations. Sacred works such as Tu es Petrus, Ecce sacerdos magnus and Oremus pro Pontifice alternate with beloved Latin prayers including Ave Maria, Salve Regina, Panis angelicus, Jesu dulcis memoria and Tantum ergo.

Burbatti’s music combines graceful Italian melody with the reverence of the Catholic liturgy. Majestic organ marches, contemplative elevations and tender Christmas pieces reveal the many different sounds that once accompanied worship, prayer and the liturgical year inside Italy’s churches and cathedrals.

This collection is ideal for prayer, spiritual reflection, reading and peaceful listening, as well as for anyone interested in Italian sacred music, Catholic hymns, cathedral choirs, soprano singing and historic pipe organs. Let these rarely heard compositions bring to life a forgotten chapter of Italy’s sacred musical heritage.
