In a culture where many people are searching for meaning, purpose and truth, Catholics are called to share the Gospel with both courage and compassion. Evangelisation is not about watering down the Catholic faith, but about presenting the truth of Christianity in a way that is human, beautiful and lived out through authentic witness.

Caitlin shares her experience of speaking with people who do not share her beliefs, including atheists and those who are sceptical of religion. She explains why respectful conversations, lasting relationships and trust are often essential before someone is ready to explore the Catholic faith.

Caitlin explains that evangelisation is not simply about giving people an immediate explanation of Catholic teaching or trying to win arguments about faith. For many people, especially those who have already dismissed religion, the path towards faith begins more slowly through friendship, trust, listening and genuine human connection.

Drawing on the story of the road to Emmaus, Caitlin describes how Jesus first walked alongside the disciples, listened to their sadness and understood their experiences before revealing the truth to them. She explains that Catholics today are called to follow this same approach by accompanying others patiently, asking questions, listening to their doubts and helping them discover truth for themselves.

This episode explores how Catholics can have meaningful conversations with atheists, agnostics and those who are searching for purpose and meaning. Caitlin discusses why understanding people’s fears, concerns and experiences is essential for effective evangelisation, and why authentic relationships can often open doors that arguments alone cannot.

The conversation also looks at what it means to 'live your faith out loud' in a modern secular society. Caitlin explains that sharing the Catholic faith does not mean imposing beliefs on others, but rather being open and natural about who we are, allowing our relationship with Christ to be visible through the way we live.

The New Evangelisation calls Catholics to share the truth of the Gospel with courage, humility and charity. It requires both a deep knowledge of the Catholic faith and a strong interior life rooted in prayer, the sacraments and openness to the Holy Spirit.
