In this homily for the 18th Sunday after Pentecost, we reflect on the sacred priesthood, the power of sacrifice and the healing ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ. The text draws on the story of Moses consecrating an altar, the Gospel miracle of the paralytic (healing of body and soul), and the call of priests to act in persona Christi — to offer sacrifice, forgive sins, and bring God’s grace to His people.
