On this Tuesday of Passion Week, we are given a profound lesson from the life of Jesus Christ: how to endure persecution, both from false friends and open enemies.

Christ Himself faced two kinds of suffering:
– The deception of those who appeared to support Him
– The violence of those who openly sought His death

Through His example, He teaches us the true Christian response: not retaliation, not pride, but humility, prudence, and charity.

Drawing from Sacred Scripture and the wisdom of St. Paul, this reflection reveals:
✝️ Why all who live piously will suffer persecution
✝️ How to recognize and resist flattery and false praise
✝️ Why self-knowledge is the antidote to deception
✝️ The two “flights” Christians must practice against enemies
✝️ Why responding to evil with evil destroys the soul

In a world filled with hidden motives and open hostility, this message is more relevant than ever.

Let us learn from Christ how to suffer well — so that we may one day share in His glory.
