Discover the inspiring life of St. Benedict XI, the humble Dominican friar who became Pope during one of the most turbulent periods in Church history. Based on Father Alban Butler's Lives of the Saints, this episode follows Nicholas Boccasini from his early years as a Dominican novice to his election as Pope in 1303.

Despite holding the highest office in the Church, St. Benedict XI remained a model of humility, poverty, prayer, and charity. He worked tirelessly to reconcile kingdoms, restore peace between warring factions, and heal divisions throughout Christendom. His short pontificate of only eight months left an enduring legacy of holiness and peacemaking.

Some historians even suggest that he died after being poisoned by enemies of peace, earning him the title of a true "Martyr of Peace."
