Martyr Marinus, his wife Martha, their sons Audifax and Abachum (Habach), and their companions stand among the great witnesses of the early Church who proved their love for Christ through heroic charity.

Journeying from Persia to Rome during the brutal persecution of Emperor Claudius II (A.D. 268–270), this holy family came to venerate the tombs of Saints Peter and Paul. Instead of returning home, they remained to minister to imprisoned Christians, care for the suffering, secretly bury the bodies of the martyrs, and assist the persecuted Church.

Their courageous works of mercy eventually led them to their own martyrdom. St. Marinus and his sons were beheaded, while St. Martha was drowned for the Faith. Their story reminds us that love of Christ is demonstrated not only by words but by sacrificial service, courage, and fidelity even unto death.
