In 1997, a man calling himself Mel Waters called into Art Bell's Coast to Coast AM claiming a bottomless pit near Ellensburg, Washington measured over 80,000 feet deep — never filling despite decades of trash, no echo, and a dead dog that came back to life. Over the next five years his story grew to include government seizure, an Australian relocation, a second Nevada hole, ice that radiated heat, a sheep with a living seal-like creature inside it, and a 1943 Roosevelt dime that shouldn't exist. Jimmy Akin and Dom Bettinelli trace all four of Mel's appearances and examine the mystery from faith and reason perspectives.
