Discover the inspiring life of St. Theodulf, a holy monk and abbot from an illustrious Aquitanian family, whose humility, discipline, and leadership left a lasting mark on the Church.

After renouncing worldly honors, St. Theodulf entered the monastery of Mont d’Or near Rheims under the guidance of the saintly Abbot Theodoric. Serving faithfully as bursar, he practiced intense personal austerities while carrying out his duties with diligence. Upon the death of Abbot Theodoric, St. Theodulf was chosen to lead the monastery, governing with both firmness and gentleness.

He died at an advanced age on May 1, 590, and his relics became a source of numerous miracles. Though transferred and preserved through centuries of upheaval, his legacy of holiness continues to inspire the faithful today.

⚠️ Note: St. Theodulf should not be confused with another hermit saint of the same name from Treves, whose feast is celebrated on March 15.
