On the great Feast of St. John the Baptist, this sermon reflects on the beautiful words of the Canticle of Canticles:

"Who is this that cometh up from the desert, flowing with delights, leaning upon her beloved?" (Canticle of Canticles 8:5)

Drawing upon the commentary of Prosper Guéranger and the rich tradition of the Church, this meditation presents St. John the Baptist as the great precursor who prepares souls to meet Christ the Bridegroom.
