Tu es Petrus.

On the Solemnity of Ss. Peter and Paul, celebrated every June 29th, we read the words of Christ: "That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." (Matt. 16:18).

Christ cannot lie. His promise can be trusted. The Church will never fail.

Yet the Society of St. Pius X believes and teaches that the ordinary means of salvation are largely lost in the Church, and that the SSPX alone — a group that represents less than .05% of the global Church — carries the torch of the True Faith.

Many Catholics — including defenders of the SSPX — don't know that the SSPX takes an extreme position on the New Mass, calling it "evil in and of itself," discouraging Catholics from ever attending it, even to fulfill their Sunday obligation.
