Our elders are being treated as burdens rather than the treasures they are. When the system shifts from caring for the vulnerable to eliminating the vulnerable, we have lost our moral compass. We must stand together to convince our healthcare providers and our government that ailments require compassion, not a lethal injection.

We must turn to Saint Joseph, the beloved Patron of Canada and the Patron of a Happy Death. A "happy death" isn't one that is manufactured or rushed; it is a death surrounded by love, grace, and natural peace—just as St. Joseph died in the arms of Jesus and Mary.

St. Joseph, intercede for us, that our seniors may receive the dignity they deserve and the happy death they deserve.
