The Lindsay Clancy case has really shaken America, and it has opened up a much bigger conversation about mental illness, postpartum psychosis, personal responsibility, compassion, and justice. And there are some very strong opinions on both sides of this case. So today I’m joined by Marsh, and we’re going to watch some of the clips that have been circulating, react to the arguments being made, and really try to unpack some of the difficult questions behind them. How much should someone’s mental state affect the way we understand their actions? What is the difference between being seriously mentally ill and being legally insane? And can we have genuine compassion for someone’s suffering while still asking difficult questions about accountability? Obviously, three children lost their lives, so we want to approach this conversation with the seriousness and sensitivity it deserves.
